LasAnod : A city under attack Rockets are still raining over the city

Lasanod these days is a city under attack. The regime in Somaliland is relentlessly bombing the entire city, civilian homes, mosques, orphanages, nursing homes and even hospitals and patient care centers.

Rockets are still raining over the city, Somaliland forces are still rocketing defenseless patients who have come to receive life-saving medical assistance, nurses and health workers,

When the hospital itself is under attack,  there is no other safe place for civilians or health workers, then the doctors and nurses who have dedicated their lives to saving others are themselves bacome in danger. This is a tragic outcome for civilians in conflict zones and a serious violation of international humanitarian law.

The people of LasaAnud organized peaceful protests, fed up with the repeated killings of their people after the killing of the prominent politician Hadrawi Sangoub in the city, but the somaliland forces killed in cold blood civilian demonstrators in the streets carrying the flag of Somalia and the flag of Khatumo, an administration set up by the Dolbhant clans.

The residents of the regions of  Sool, Sanag and Ayn, after they suffered many years from the oppression and injustice of the regime in Hargeisa, and after the regime refused to arrest and prosecute the criminals who killed their youth, men, and scholars. Residents demanded peaceful demonstrations for justice and the prosecution and trial of the killers. However, the regime, Musa Bihi, responded to these demands by suppressing the demonstrators with live bullets

Freedom and self-determination

The inhabitants of those regions and their leaders are calling for the freedom guaranteed to them by international law, which is the right of peoples to take their future in their own hands and determine the political path and options that they deem appropriate, including forming their governments without external influence, determining the form of government, and merging with a neighboring political unit or separating from it.

The use of heavy weapons against defenseless and innocent civilians is a crime in itself
