Forgotten and Neglected: The Plight of Remote Communities in Somalia by State Governments and NGOs"

In Somalia, remote areas such as Gardafuu region in far Northeast somalia are often ignored by state governments and non-governmental organizations. The lack of attention and support to these communities has led to a variety of issues including inadequate healthcare services, poor infrastructure, and limited education, among others.

One of the primary challenges remote area communities face is poor access to healthcare. Due to the long distance from urban centers, most remote area communities in Somalia have inadequate healthcare centers, and are often underserved or not served at all.

People living in these areas often resort to traditional healing methods or travel long distances to access better healthcare.

In addition to the poor healthcare services, remote area communities in Somalia also have poor infrastructure.

Many communities lack basic amenities such as proper roads, running water, and electricity. This makes life extremely difficult for residents in these areas, and can have an adverse effect on their livelihoods.

The education system in these communities is also hampered by neglect. Schools are poorly equipped, with inadequate facilities and underpaid teachers. Children walk long distances to attend school in other regions, often putting their lives at risk due to adverse weather conditions,

Furthermore, due to poor infrastructure, accessing basic services such as financial services is extremely difficult, This has forced remote area communities to operate on limited mobile money transfer based economy, which often leads to exploitation of vulnerable populations.

The neglect of these remote area communities is unfair and must be addressed. Efforts need to be made by government and non-governmental organizations to ensure equal access to healthcare services, infrastructure development, education, and financial services in remote areas, just as they are in urban centers. This will not only improve the quality of life for all residents of Somalia, but will also promote economic growth and development across the country.

In conclusion, the neglect of remote area communities in Somalia is a serious issue that must be addressed. It is time for greater attention to be paid to these communities, and for effective solutions to be implemented to ensure that they too, can enjoy a decent standard of living.
